there are currently 4 viruses making their way around the internet. 2 are
email based:

]SoBig

Dumaru

and 2 are using modem to send massive amounts of internet traffic out of
your modem, cloggin up the network

ml]Welchia
[URL=http://www.sarc.com/avcenter/venc/data/w32.blaster.worm.removal.tool.ht
ml]Blaster

each link takes you to the Norton patch for the specific virus. if your a
charter customer and have either Welchia or Blaster, we may have disabled
your modem. obtaining a firewall is imperative in protecting yourself.

download

for free and install it if you dont want to purchase a firewall
program.

*NOTE--if you have Windows XP you must disable "System Restore"
before running aby of the above patches.

Start>right-click "my computer">left click "properties">click the "System
Restore" tab and check "turn off system restore". click apply. click OK
(this may take a minute).

download and run patch. restart computer. repeat run and download.
install firewall.

re-enable system restore
