If it were that simple, your conclusion might make sense.
Everyone knows that in the US, winning elections takes money. We're not sure
why we need to spend so much money, or even how really tight the
relationship between spending and winning is,
but we seem to think it's necessary. And keep in mind, this money gets
spread around. Even the media gets a taste ;). This money comes by and large
from where most money comes from;
those who have it. And heads of corporations generally have more than the
blue collar or middle class America. That's just fact. Corporations need
friends in government and those friends need
corporate leaders and more importantly, their money. So, it shouldn't be a
big surprise when some corporation or someone in its upper management gets
caught with its pants down, governments in
the US don't take the high moral ground. What's the expression? Oh yeah, you
don't shit where you eat. Over time though, if the out cry is loud enough,
politicians take notice because they understand it's not just the corporate
leaders who punch little holes in those cards (ooops..that's just Florida)-
I mean vote. That's when something happens.

Aucun les USA ne sont pas une république de banane mais la France est une
puissance irresponsable du monde, relagated maintenant à un seul état
secondaire-souverain de l'EU, qui davantage est préoccupé par sa propre
puissance dans la scène du monde qu'arrêtant les dictateurs tyrant par des
armes de destruction de masse. Cette république de banane a sauvé l'Europe
il y a plus de 50 ans et peut être comptée dessus en tant qu'allié digne
