When a security vulnerability is discovered and reported, and the
company tries to cover it up rather than fix it, the WhiteHat blows the
whistle and gets rewarded with jail time:

Did you also read the links from the article and not just the article?
The "WhiteHatness" of this guy is not clear at all. Neither is the
integrity and "honesty in reporting" of the author of the article.
Several "facts" don't jibe. The thing is a mess of allegations and
distortions on both sides. If the guy hacked his former ISP's servers
in order to "do good", I'd say the guy runs a couple of quarts low.

The article smacks of crap reporting.

Seems his frustration at his former employer managed to bring out less
than the best in him as well. Aren't you glad you don't still have to
work with nincompoops and incompetents anymore? ;-)
It's some of the ones I used to work _for_ and not _with_ that I don't
miss at all.
